The 3d Scientific and Practical Conference The Ural Peaks. Respiratory Infections 2025 was held in Ekaterinburg on October 15–16 as part of the 4th International Forum Days of Virology 2025. The event organized by the Ministry of Health of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Smorodintsev Research Institute of Influenza, and the Ural State Medical University brought together over 1,100 participants in person and online from 36 cities across Russia.

On October 10, 2025, a representative delegation visited the Medsintez Plant. Among the visitors, there were members of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Government and Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk Region, the head of the Novouralsk Urban District, and leading regional experts in the field of medical science. The main purpose of the visit was to assess the enterprise's success in import-substituting drug production, become familiar with its brand-new products, and discuss development options of the pharmaceutical industry in the region.

Physiotherapy device Nov-M
Medical device Nov-M is a physiotherapy device that uses electromagnetic radiation and magnetic fields. The device is intended for use in research and medical institutions, as well as for home treatment.
The device operates in two main modes: microwave therapy and magnetic therapy.
The microwave module of the device is used for the prevention and treatment of diseases of the upper respiratory tract: bronchial asthma, bronchitis, laryngitis.
The magnetic module is used for a wide range of diseases: joints, skin, pelvic organs, nervous system, as well as surgical diseases.
The device has the following specifications:
– carrier frequency of electromagnetic radiation of the microwave therapy module (4,20 ± 0,05) ГГц;
– frequency deviation of the electromagnetic radiation generated by the device by the microwave therapy module is at least 25 MHz;
– electromagnetic energy flux density at a distance of 5 cm from the device antenna has a level of 5 to 20 μW/cm2;
– induction of magnetic fields generated by the magnetic belt of the device has a level not exceeding 15 mT;
– the device provides indication and alarm: the presence of mains power supply, a constant supply voltage of 5 V, a constant supply voltage of 15 V – by steady light of yellow indicators, switching on the operating mode of individual elements of the device – by steady light of green indicators, malfunctions of individual elements of the device – by steady light of blue indicators, the end of the procedure – by steady light of blue indicator and sound alarm 10 seconds before the end of therapy;
– the device provides information on the display: therapy mode selection (microwave or magnetic), selection of the duration of the procedure (for microwave: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 minutes, for magnetic: 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 28 minutes), countdown of the procedure time;
– the device provides automatic shutdown of the operating mode of the procedure after the expiration of the procedure time;
– the time for setting the operating mode of the device after switching on does not exceed 1 s.
– the weight of the device does not exceed 5 kg;
– overall dimensions of the device (without accessories) no more than 280 x 260 x 180 mm;
– the device operates from AC mains with a frequency of 50 Hz and a rated voltage of 220 V with mains voltage deviations of ± 10% of the rated value;
